Epalme Project Description
In 2017, GME Recycling Company have been selected for Aluminium Profiles Recycling Plant Project from EPALME SA, now part of MYTILINEOS group, the largest vertically integrated alumina and aluminium producer in the European Union and one of Greece’s healthiest growing industrial companies > The project consisted in a complete Aluminium Recycling line with an input capacity of 7 tons/hour. GME Technical Team were responsible for the engineering, procurement, manufacturing and the installation supervision of the Plant.
New shredder supplying for Al scraps
The core of the project was circling around the new 360° MULTIPLE SPEED mechanical line shredder adaptable for XXL Aluminium profiles up to 7mt length which is able to reduce the shredded pieces size, from 150 mm (original plant) to 70/90 mm approx. (GME plant). Improving shredded material’s bulk density by 49% approx. and resulting in a direct benefit to the furnace loading timing. The line have been also equpped with a X-ray machine system, with the scope of removing the Aluminium/Zinc (Al/Zn) alloy in purity from the load.
GME Technical Team studied and tailored for the customer a new conception of mono rotor shredder driven by a low speed hydraulic motor, with a complete new cutting technology, allowing the customer to reduce drastically maintenance cost and time.
Due the new design the customer got the benefit of:
Sector: Aluminium recycling plant
Commissioned: EPALME SA
Performed activities: engineering, procurement, realization and installation supervision
Material: stainless steel AISI 316
Capacity of the plant:7 Tons/input of Aluminium profiles
